While news articles give you the facts, feature stories dig much deeper into a particular subject or person. But how do you decide what stories warrant a longer length? And what language can you use to captivate readers? Led by Rose Kelly, communications manager and senior writer in the Woodrow Wilson School, and Morgan Kelly, science writer in the Office of Communications, this workshop will teach you the basics of feature writing. You’ll learn how to tease out interesting facts during an interview and use those nuggets effectively to shape a long-form story.
