Translating scientific and technical information for lay readers can be daunting, but it is a critical need at a research institution such as Princeton. In day-to-day operations and in external communications, engaging others in the work of the University helps move projects forward and advance our mission. Led by Steve Schultz, director of communications in the School of Engineering and Applied Science, and Catherine Zandonella, communications manager in the Office of the Dean for Research, this workshop brings a journalist’s eye to the task of translation. Participants will gain confidence in asking the right kinds of questions and organizing and conveying technical concepts in a clear, compelling way.
