Many of us are required as part of our daily responsibilities to write content for our department’s website, whether we consider ourselves writers or not. Does writing for the web entail different skills from those that apply to other media? Yes . . . sort of. Led by Jill Moraca, senior manager of web development services in the Office of Information Technology, and Dan Day, assistant vice president for communications, this workshop will look at some research on reader behavior and how that behavior drives the way we write and design web pages. Then we will apply what we have learned in a few interactive examples.
