My mother used to marvel at the twists and turns her life had taken. “If I could write a book, nobody would believe it,” she’d say.
What about your life? Would we believe your story? How will you know until you write it? Are you ready to write your memoir or the “Great American Novel”? Let 2021 be the year you finally commit to getting your stories or poems or essays on the page. No matter what your writing goals are, it’s great to have support. The blank page can be intimidating.
Princeton Writes invites you to join Writing Space, a group of Princeton employees who come together once a month to support each other and keep that creative spark going. To join the listserv, please email pwrites@princeton.edu.
There are also many online classes and workshops to keep you going and to hold you accountable to your writing aspirations. You might try “An Appointment with Emily and Your Chair” through Literary Arts in Portland, Oregon.
You might choose from one of the many online classes and events advertised at Poets and Writers.
Or, you might stick closer to home (even if you participate virtually) and join a group at the Princeton Public Library .
Whatever you choose, keep writing! While you’re at it, don’t forget to enter the Princeton Writes Prize Staff Essay Contest.
This could be your year!
